6TH ANNUAL DEEP INDONESIA INTERNATIONAL UNDERWATER PHOTO COMPETITION

DPG and Wetpixel are proud to announce the winners of the 2012 DEEP Indonesia International Underwater Photography Competition. The competition is part of a unique series of underwater imaging events and has become one of the biggest and most prestigious in the world. Everyone from novice to professionals compete annually in what has become the “Superbowl” of international underwater imagery events, which combined with the Our World Underwater competition, awarded over $100,000 of world-class prizes.

This year the competition received thousands of entries from underwater photographers in over 15 countries.  Congratulations to Dale Sanders,who won Best of Show for his 1st place image from the Reefscape category. This is the second time Dale has taken home the Best of Show award in the DEEP Indonesia contest, after winning it in 2008 as well.

Winners will be in exhibit in  Jakarta at the DEEP Indonesia diving and extreme sports expo March 29th - Apr 1st, 2012, and will be published by supporting media partners worldwide. You can always enjoy all of the winning images here.

As with all UnderwaterCompetition.com events, 15% of entry proceeds will be donated to marine conservation efforts.
