Laura Parker
Laura Parker UK

Laura Parker is a self-taught artist and painter based in the London area. Her background is in History of Art and Architecture. Laura is inspired by the natural world, with water being an important impetus to her work. Laura works predominantly in acrylics, while also exploring the use of other materials, and her love of colour adds drama, and brings energy and vitality to her artworks. Experimenting and taking risks are all part of the process of painting that thrills her, as Laura tries to communicate her visual, emotional, and sensory experiences. Can she perhaps reveal the smell, taste, feel and sound of water so that the viewer can respond to the artwork almost like uncovering a memory? Laura says, “For me, making art is exciting, scary, frustrating, addictive, rewarding, and an utterly indispensable part of my life.” Laura is a member of ArtCan and Richmond Art Society. She is represented by BobCat Gallery in London. Laura exhibits regularly. Recent group exhibitions include ‘Ancient Landscapes’ & ‘The Sea’ at Fronteer Gallery, ‘The Shape of Things to Come’ & ‘Nearly Home’ with ArtCan, ‘Trees’ at Cannizaro House, ‘Winter Show’ at Orleans House Gallery, and ‘Wunderkammer’ & ‘Light in the Dark’ with BobCat Gallery. She has a number of exhibitions planned for 2025. Estila published an article online featuring Laura’s background and art practice in 2024. She has also been featured in Art Seen Magazine, while Diver Magazine and Collect Art’s Special Edition ‘Sea in Me’ featured her art practice and underwater paintings. Laura’s work is in private collections all over the world.
