I became fascinated with the underwater world while studying polychaete worm chemoreception, nudibranch toxicology, and immune properties of tunicates in Monterey as a college student in 1976. I studied film photography as well, but ended up with a 27 year career as an ophthalmologist. Putting SCUBA and photography together in 2014, I've have been mesmerized with imaging our amazing undersea community ever since. I finally purchased a DSLR camera in 2018; if I'm not in the water, I'm thinking about that next dive!
